Can we dig it?

As you don your Bob The Builder pajamas and lay in my lap with your legs now dangling past my knees- I remember when I would cuddle you and rub your tiny feet. I would nurse you for your comfort and mine...now you comfort yourself. You don't want mom to hold the bottle --you want to hold it.

As I think back over the events of our day together..I finally got a chance to play hookie from work and we had a glorious day. As we rode around town you talked on your cellphone (holding it up to you ear); and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city. For lunch today YOU fed yourself sweet potato fries and attempted to color the kids menu at our favorite diner. On the return trip home you sat in your car seat so stately and reserved and "asked" for your bottle and proceeded to drink it and doze off. Woo Hoo

As we waited for "da-da" to come home,we sang and played and had a good time. Eating Ramen noodles for dinner- of course mom couldn't feed you. Because the more independent you are...the happier you are.

I love you so much--my Independent big boy...in Bob the Builder pajamas.
